Restaurant - VIP Restaurant If you’re out exploring Cartagena then the place right in the centre of town to head for when you want a break is VIP Restaurant, close to the newly-restored town hall. VIP Restaurant is owned by Miguel, who spent a large part of his life in London and speaks native English. The traditional Spanish food is great, with daily specials, and there is a tasty set menu, or menu del dia Many Spanish people head here for a breakfast of coffee and tostada, which is a slice of toasted bread. Try it con tomate¸ which is grated fresh tomato. Sprinkle with salt and pour over a generous amount of olive oil. If you want something more traditionally English, then have a word with Miguel who will be happy to oblige. The restaurant is open throughout the day and there is a room at the back that is ideal for groups. VIP is in Calle Cañón, which is on the right just past the newly-restored town hall, before the start of the Calle Mayor. Walk up for about 30 seconds and you will find it. The old Roman Theatre is only minute from the restaurant. Turn right when you come out of the door and then right again and you will be at the entrance. VIP Restaurant , Calle del Cañón, 4, Cartagena. Telephone 968 121 995.
