Sneaky Submarine A mini submarine that was designed to sneak up on warships is on display in Cartagena’s Naval Museum. The Medas submarine was used by the Diving Combat Unit of the Spanish Navy in the 1970s and 1980s and it carried two divers with their own breathing equipment. The submarine was designed for reconnaissance and for taking divers close to target vessels. The sub could travel submerged at depths of up to 40 metres, or 130 feet, and it was powered by electric batteries. end
